The adjustable torque brake for alternating current electric motors is a "rest position controlled" brake with the ability to adjust the braking torque and equipped with an accessory for canceling the braking torque (rotation release) with automatic/manual operation.
The adjustable torque brake consists of 2 functionally distinct parts:
An electromagnetically actuated spring brake
An automatic/manual rotation release with a braking torque partialization function
Innovative Features
The electromechanical brake allows for braking torque partialization and enables customized braking, adaptable to the usage conditions of the equipment on which it is mounted.
In the absence of an adjustable braking torque brake, to limit structural stresses within safety limits, it may be necessary to use two brake/motor units, with the purpose of only using one when operating conditions require it.
The electromechanical brake with adjustable braking torque eliminates this necessity, avoiding the unnecessary redundancy of certain components, with obvious benefits in terms of costs and design simplicity.
NOTE: The rotation releases are designed for non-continuous use with a frequency of fewer than 10 operations/day. If continuous use is required, consult the La Ticino catalog for recommended products.
